Gorgonzola is insuperable smeared on warm croutons with acacia honey or on slices of toasted polenta (maize porridge). Gorgonzola is often present in the kitchen for fast snacks, to prepare tasty appetizers, and as ingredient of innumerable first and second courses, sauces and creams. It’s special on pizza or on a piping hot polenta.
This soft and creamy Gorgonzola is better matched with soft, savoury red and/or white wines. Riesling, White Pinot, Merlot, Langrein Kretzer, Orvieto Classico, Frascati Superiore, dry Malvasia, Chiaretto del Garda.
To enhance its taste and creaminess it is advisable to keep it at room temperature at least half an hour before consuming it.
